Sometimes, I still wonder--A joy filled with humor that hits the spot with all age ranges, The Far Side is an excellent gift, coffee table edition, and the perfect book to grab on a cloudy day.     3. I like The Far Side, but I love this book. It's a fascinating look behind the scenes of the strip, and a glance inside Larson's mind. And while it's not necessarily a "Best-Of" collection, the cartoons selected ARE some of his best. Essential.

    4. Every Gary Larson book is very good. Four people saw the book on my desk and read several pages while they waited for me. Two people said it made their day.

    5. It's the Far Side. What's not to like? At times both simple and surprising, this is great humor. And, Gary Larson had the smarts to quit while he was ahead, unlike some other cartoonists who stopped being funny about 30 years ago but are still creating page filler.
